I really love the owl. I like that it is cropped in on the face, but I would love to see another fully developed. It would be great to see both of the eyes and perhaps even add some yellow to them for a stronger effect. It is a great rendering.
The aves that Mr. Patrick illustrates look like they belong in a textbook or tracking guide of some sort. I do agree with Ms. Shaffer however that it would be nice to see more birds showing the whole face or body, but the Horned Owl does make for a great close up. The birds are drawn with accuracy and are a treat to look at.
